Jewels from Europe

It’s been another busy month and also some more international travel. This time to the UK to see some amazing jewels including the 49 Art Deco vanity cases of the late Freddie Mercury loaned to the V&A [https://www.vam.ac.uk/] by his sister Kashmira Bulsara. Also visits to Wartski [http://www.wartski.com/] the world authority on Faberge, the Tower of London to re-equaint myself on the Crown Jewels, Edinburgh Castle to see the Scottish Crown Jewels and various other places of interest before a fleeting visit to the flea markets of Paris.

It was here that I found some beautiful jewels that are now being photographed for my next catalogue by my good friend and talented photographer John McRae [http://johnmcrae.com/]. The catalogue will be out next month, well in time for Christmas so if you need me to send it to any of your friends please send me their contact details.

A star when it comes to these jewels is this wonderful French necklace. Made towards the end of the 19th century it’s all 18ct yellow gold mounted and set with graduating black Onyx buttons that are then inset with gold mounted half natural pearls. It’s a beautiful jewel and when worn (especially by one of my dearest friends in the haute-Pyrenees) it looks amazing!
